The OC Fair & Event Center strives to offer an event that suits the needs of all its guests. This guide provides an overview of the services and facilities offered to patrons with disabilities and special needs during the annual OC Fair. Information provided here should be used in conjunction with this year’s Fair brochure or event guide available on-grounds. The OC Fair’s Guest Services Department is on-hand to help any guests with questions or needing assistance.
At the OC Fair, we seek to diligently provide access for all visitors by actively working to increase the ease of access for patrons with disabilities throughout the fairgrounds. Each admission gate has at least one accessible ticket booth. Exhibit halls, entertainment venues and vendor booths are accessible to patrons who use wheelchairs. Staff members are also available for assistance. For patrons who are concerned that they are unable to stand and wait in lines for long periods, we recommend taking advantage of wheelchair rental services available during the OC Fair located inside each public admission gate.
California State Law requires that carnival owners enforce manufacturer ride participation restrictions such as age and height limitations. These are clearly marked at each ride entrance. Each person who desires to participate at an activity should evaluate his/her own health condition and the risks that he/she is willing to assume. No person should participate in any recreational activity unless he/she feels confident that he/she has the ability to meet the posted attraction requirements. Safety is our first concern. We also desire that all who feel capable of participating on the rides and other attractions be given equal opportunity depending upon their own interests and capabilities.
Our staff and other independent vendors’ staff, including the carnival ride staff, are happy to help you with advice on specific access to any ride. They cannot make decisions for you, as no one knows your health conditions better than you do. They are not permitted to lift a patron into or out of a ride, nor can they waive posted ride rules, which are required by California State Law.
Accessible seats in the Pacific Amphitheatre, The Hangar and Action Sports Arena can be reserved through ticketmaster.com or the OC Fair Box Office at (714) 708-1500. For shows not requiring a reserved seat/ticket, Security/Guest Services staff is available to assist guests.
Patrons with Hearing Impairments
Some OC Fair Guest Services staff are able to communicate in sign language. Sign language interpreters are scheduled for all 23 days and nights of the OC Fair. To request an interpreter for a specific event, please contact or visit the Guest Services Department at (714) 708-1588. Interpreters are not automatically available at Pacific Amphitheatre events. A special request must be submitted prior to the event.
Assisted listening devices are available at all reserved seat/ticket events in the Pacific Amphitheatre, The Hangar and Action Sports Arena. The distribution point for these devices is in the Pacific Amphitheatre inside the concourse area behind the Box Office. In The Hangar and Action Sports Arena, patrons can borrow devices by contacting a Guest Services staff member located inside either venue. Patrons will be required to leave their current California-issued identification as security for the device.
TDD (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf)
To assist hearing-impaired guest to purchase tickets, please call (800) 943-4327 and type your request or question.
Service dogs and miniature horses are welcome at the OC Fair provided they are on a leash or maintained at all times. For the safety of the animal, the owner and other riders, service animals are not permitted on rides. A member of your party must remain with the animal at all times. Currently, the ADA provides no definition of therapy, comfort or emotional support service animals and as such are not considered service animals and are not permitted at the OC Fair.
Parking spaces are reserved for patrons with disabilities in close proximity to all admission gate entrances with easy access. Parking rates are $10 for cars and $20 for buses or limos. Please remember to display your ID placard in your vehicle’s windshield before parking in any parking space for people with disabilities.
The First Aid station is located behind The Hangar building across from the Safety/Guest Relations Office while the OC Fair is open. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are on duty at all times. Please call (714) 708-1588 for emergencies on-site at the OC Fair.
Restroom facilities on the property can accommodate disabled guests and guests in wheelchairs. The most comfortable restrooms are the newly refurbished facilities in the Livestock Area, Park Plaza, The Courtyard and the larger exhibit halls (Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach and Los Alamitos Buildings). Please see the OC Fair map, available in the printed Event Schedule or on Information Booths, for all restroom locations.
For patrons with disabilities, wheelchairs and powered scooters are available for rent on a first-come basis inside each admission gate, online at vistamobility.net or by calling (877) 588-4782. A valid driver’s license is required to be held as a deposit.
Shopping and Exhibits
All exhibit buildings are wheelchair-accessible. Exhibitors and staff will gladly provide customer service for patrons will disabilities. Please do not hesitate to ask for additional assistance from OC Fair staff, especially if you have large packages or purchases or other needs for assistance.
During OCFEC-produced events (i.e. OC Fair, Imaginology) smoking and the use of electronic cigarettes, vaporizers and oil/wax pens is prohibited.
