Pruning Fruit Trees-The Basics Class

Learn the best time to prune stone fruit trees, citrus trees and avocado trees in Southern California. Isabel Barkman will cover the basics of pruning and why the pruning season in Southern California is different than the rest of the country. She will also prepare attendees for the Pruning Workshop in late January.

About the speaker: Isabel Barkman has been a UCCE Master Gardener since 1999 and volunteers at the South Coast Research and Extension Center in Irvine working with various fruit tree orchards. A member of California Rare Fruit Growers since 1991, she has served as a group representative and expert for answering questions from the public at numerous plant and gardening events. Isabel also conducts grafting and pruning demonstrations for Master Gardeners and CRFG classes.
