Culinary Arts is taking center stage at the 2017 OC Fair. The Main Stage is booked everyday throughout the fair and will be host to chefs, bakers, farmers, floral artists, food bloggers, mixologists, brewers, butchers and more.

Learn from the best during demos and tasting sessions stocked with kitchen secrets, war stories and more – straight from the experts. The Pâtisserie showcases the many talents of Chef Stéphane Tréand, World Champion Pastry Chef, Chocolatier, and MOF (come to the Pâtisserie to learn what an honor this is). Enjoy delicious baked goods, chocolate bonbons, gelato macaron sandwiches, chocolate orange tarts and other pâtisserie delights.

Urban Produce | The Future of Farming with Danielle Horton
The future of organically grown produce is here! Urban Produce presents high-density vertically grown produce in a computer-controlled environment to deliver the proper amount of water and nutrition exactly when needed. Some of their fresh, organic produce spotlighted inside the OC Promenade include fresh herbs, leafy micro greens and wheat grass.

Topics include water bath canning, steam canning, pressure canning, dehydrating, freezing, lacto-fermentation and more.

Watch culinary artist Chef Ray Duey carve fruits and vegetables. Chef Duey is nothing short of amazing when it comes to food sculpting. This will be a feast for your eyes!

Harvest to Home
View the Harvest to Home custom-designed moss wall. Harvest to Home builds living walls and organic gardens for households and corporations. Harvest to Home’s raised planting beds also can be viewed over at Centennial Farm.

Cookie Decorating Class for Kids & Teens (July 27 & Aug. 6)
Did you know? The Main Stage transforms from stage to classroom twice during the 2017 OC Fair; first on July 27 and again on Aug. 6 as kids (ages 9 to 17) get hands-on experience with cookie decorating alongside Grand Champion Pastry Chef Stéphane Tréand. Sign up as soon as possible at the information desk to capture a prized spot on stage; space is limited.


Sugar Arts Demonstration (July 30)
Cue the Fireworks! Chef Stéphane Tréand will showcase his incredible talents by creating a highly technical sugar sculptor showpiece on Sunday, July 30, at 5 p.m. The 2017 showpiece theme will be “Farm Fresh Fun Comes to Sugar.”



Eating & Culinary Contest (Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays)
These contests are free and will be held on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays. The winners will be awarded prizes and ribbons. Make sure to register starting at 5 p.m., before competitions begin at 7 p.m. Two age groups compete: ages 9 to 17, and 18 and up. For more information, go to the information desk.
