Pacific Amphitheatre Nightly Summer Concert Series

Metal icons, The Scorpions, usher in the 2006 Pacific Amphitheatre season on Friday, June 30 at 7 p.m. The Scorpions conquered America with their 1982 release "Blackout" and cemented their place in rock and roll history with the follow-up, 1984's "Love at First Sting." Their latest release is 2004's "Unbreakable."

The All-American Rejects perform July 26

On Friday, July 7, at 7 p.m., Switchfoot performs at the Pacific Amphitheatre. The San Diego-based band, who won a 1999 Dove Award for Song of the Year for “New Way To Be Human,” has attracted a loyal following since their 1997 debut release and continues to make new fans with their fifth and latest release, 2005’s “Nothing Is Sound.” Fullerton’s Lit opens the show.

"Rock en espanol" comes to the Pacific Amphitheatre with Maldita Vecindad and Julieta Venegas on Saturday, July 8 at 7 p.m. Mexico's Maldita Vecindad's second album, "El Circo," (1991) is becoming the best-selling album in Mexican history. Their latest release is 2002's "Juntos." Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Julieta Venegas found commercial success on both sides of the border with her third album, 2003's "Sí." All tickets for this show are $19.99.

Touring in support of their successful second album "If Only You Were Lonely," emo quintet Hawthorne Heightsperforms on Sunday, July 9 at 7 p.m. Orlando, Florida's Anberlin opens the show.

Super-star vocalist Linda Ronstadt will grace the Pacific Amphitheatre on Tuesday, July 11 at 7 p.m., performing songs from her 60's and 70's period including such classics as "Desperado," "You're No Good," and "It's So Easy." Country-rock pioneer Richie Furay, formerly of Buffalo Springfield and Poco, will open the show.

Chris Isaak, performing Wednesday, July 12, at 7 p.m., hit the big time with his third release, "Heart Shaped World," after the single "Wicked Game" appeared in David Lynch's 1990 film "Wild At Heart." All tickets for this show are $19.99.

Comedian Bill Cosby brings his brand of wry humor to the Pacific Amphitheatre on Thursday, July 13 at 8 p.m. Cosby, an American institution, is best known for his humorous insights into family and marriage as well as for creating The Cosby Show and Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids.

The Steve Miller Bandreturns to the Pacific Amphitheatre on Friday, July 14 at 8 p.m. Evolving from a top blues guitarist to one of the best-selling rock artists of the '70's, Steve Miller has been reinventing himself for over 35 years, scoring Top 40 hits with a string of radio staples such as "Rock'n Me", "Jungle Love" and "Fly Like An Eagle."

On Saturday, July 15 at 8 p.m., Grammy-award winning artist Seal will bring his signature sound to Pacific Amphitheatre stage. A mainstay on the Billboard charts since his debut in 1991, Seal has created a unique blend of soul, rock, folk and dance music that has catapulted him to superstar status with such singles as "Crazy," "Kiss From A Rose," and "Waiting For You."

Dancehall superstar Shaggy brings the groove to the Pacific Amphitheatre along with Pato Banton and The Wailing Souls during the OC Fair ReggaeFest, on Sunday, July 16 at 7 p.m.

Touring on the strength of their Top 10 self-titled third album, Lifehouseperforms Wednesday, July 19 at 7 p.m. Up and coming singer-songwriter Teddy Geiger also performs. All seats are $19.99.

One of the most enduring bands to come out of the 60's, Jon Kay & Steppenwolf, perform with Jefferson Starship, Quicksilver Messenger Service and Vanilla Fudge on July 21 at 7 p.m. All seats are $19.99.

OC Fair JamFest featuring Big Head Todd & the Monsters, BoDeans, and Shooter Jennings comes to the Pacific Amphitheatre on Sunday, July 23 at 7 p.m.

Grammy Award-winning soul singer Michael Bolton brings his distinctive voice to the Pacific Amphitheatre on July 25 at 7 p.m. Performing tunes from his latest release "Bolton Swings Sinatra," Bolton will also thrill audiences with the hits that helped him sell over 53 million records throughout his illustrious career.

Flush with the success of their second album, "Move Along", pop-punk phenoms, All-American Rejects, perform Wednesday, July 26 at 7 p.m. Damone opens the show. All tickets for this show are $19.99.

Touring in support of his critically acclaimed new release “Surprise,” Paul Simon perfoms at the Pacific Amphitheatre on Friday, July 28, at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, July 29 at 7 p.m. seminal Los Angeles punk band, X, graces the Pacific Amphitheatre stage. Featuring Exene, John Doe, Billy Zoom and D.J. Bonebrake, the classic line-up created a unique blend of American roots music and late-70's punk rock. Rollins Band, featuring iconic front man Henry Rollins, reuniting with seminal members Sim Cain, Chris Haskett and Melvin Gibbs after almost a decade apart, will also perform.

On Sunday, July 30 at 8 p.m., The Moody Blues bring a collection of hits that include "I'm Just a Singer (In A Rock & Roll Band)" and "In Your Wildest Dreams."

The 2006 Pacific Amphitheatre Summer Concert Series at the OC Fair is presented by the Orange County Market Place.

Tickets for Pacific Amphitheatre concerts are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at (714) 740-2000 or (213) 480-3232, and at the Orange County Fair Box Office at the Pacific Amphitheatre. Concert ticket prices include Fair admission. Gates open 90 minutes before show time. Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic and parking delays.
