The Pacific Amphitheatre
will open its gates again
for nightly concerts during
the 2005 OC Fair, July 8- 31
(closed Mondays). New this
year, admission for all Friday
and Saturday shows is only
$19.99, which includes free
Fair admission.
Opening the 2005 OC Fair
Summer Concert Series, on
Friday, July 8, at 7:30 p.m. , The B-52's have launched many
barn-burner party classics, such as “Rock Lobster”, “Private Idaho”,
and the Top 10 hits “Love Shack”
and “Roam.” Pop-hybrid duo Junior Senior will open the
show. All tickets for this show
are $19.99.
Blue-collar comedian Bill
Engvall performs Saturday,
July 9, at 8 p.m. Engvall released
his first album, “Here's Your
Sign,” in 1996. Since then,
Engvall has gone on to release
a total of nine albums, made
numerous television appearances
and become one of the co-creators
and stars of the “Blue Collar
Comedy” tour and television
show. All tickets for this show
are $19.99.
The Steve Miller Band comes to the Pacific Amphitheatre
on Sunday, July 10, at 8 p.m.
Evolving from one of the top
blues guitarist to one of the best
selling rock artists of the 1970's,
Steve Miller has been reinventing
himself for over 35 years, scoring
Top 40 hits with a string of catchy
songs such as “Rock'n Me,” “Jungle Love” and “Fly Like
An Eagle.”
Hootie & the Blowfish broke
onto the American music scene
in 1994 with their debut album “Cracked Rear View.” The album
landed at No. 1 on the Billboard
chart and sold 16 million copies.
Their latest album, “Looking
For Lucky,” will arrive this
August. Hootie & the Blowfish
perform Tuesday, July 12, at
7 p.m. Tonic and Cracker also
will perform.
America 's sweatheart, Hilary
Duff , performs on Wednesday,
July 13, at 8 p.m. A household
name after starring in the
long-running television series “Lizzie McGuire,” Hilary is an
entertainment triple-threat
conquering television, movies
and music. Hilary has sold nearly
12 million records worldwide
including a No. 1 hit single and
a No. 2 album.
Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo are known for such ubiquitous
anthems as “Hit Me With Your
Best Shot,” “Heartbreaker,” and
“Love Is A Battlefield.” On
Thursday, July 14, at 7 p.m. the
four-time Grammy Award winner
and one of the most popular
female vocalists in rock music,
comes to the Pacific Amphitheatre
stage. Berlin and The Motels also will be performing as part
of this show.
On Friday, July 15, at 7 p.m.
seminal Los Angeles punk band, X , graces the Pacific Amphitheatre
stage. Featuring Exene, John Doe,
Billy Zoom and D.J. Bonebrake,
the classic line-up created a
unique blend of American roots music and late-1970’s punk rock. The
Plimsouls and Maria McKee also will be
performing. All tickets for this show are

Back with “Jupiter’s Darling,” their
first new album in more than a decade,
Heart performs on Saturday, July 16, at
8 p.m. Fronted by sisters Ann and Nancy
Wilson, Heart has been a mainstay of
rock radio for almost 30 years with
such Top 40 hits as “Crazy On You,” “Barracuda,” “Magic Man” and
“These Dreams.” All tickets for this
show are $19.99.
Performing together for the first
time in over a decade, Roland Orzabal
and Curt Smith, the founding members
of Tears For Fears, come to the Pacific
Amphitheatre on Sunday, July 17, at
7:30 p.m. Tears For Fears are best known
for a string of Top 10 hits in the 1980’s
including the No. 1 hits “Everybody
Wants to Rule the World,” and the
ubiquitous “Shout!” Gin Blossoms and
Dishwalla will also perform.
Grammy-award winner Julio Iglesias has sold over 100 million albums
worldwide, performing in Spanish,
Italian, French and English. He first
achieved crossover success with his
1984 duet with Willie Nelson, “To All
the Girls I’ve Loved Before” from the
album “1100 Bel Air Place.” Iglesias’
latest release is 2004’s “Divorcio.” He
will perform Wednesday, July 20, at 8 p.m.
Touring behind his latest Top 10
release, “Guero,” Beck performs
Thursday, July 21, at 8 p.m. First coming
to national attention with the single
“Loser” in 1993, the musical chameleon
has released a series of critically acclaimed
albums that are as diverse in style as they
are distinctly the product of one vision.
The Decemberists also perform.
Maldita Vecindad, Aterciopelados,
and Inspector will perform on Friday
July 22, at 7 p.m. Mexico’s Maldita
Vecindad’s second album, “El Circo,”
(1991) became the best selling album in
Mexican history. Their latest release is
2002’s “Juntos.” The music of Colombian
duo Aterciopelados is an indefinable
blend of third world rhythms and the
best of today’s modern rock. Mexican
ska revival ensemble Inspector released
their latest album “Unidad, Cerveza y
Ska” in 2004. All tickets for this show
are $19.99.
Back for the second time in two
years, The Psychedelic Furs perform on
Saturday, July 23, at 7 p.m. Critically
admired and adored by fans, the Furs,
fronted by vocalist Richard Butler,
burst out of the early 1980’s post-punk
era with such singles as “Heaven,” “Love My Way,” “Heartbreak Beat,”
and “Pretty in Pink.” Opening this
show will be The Fixx and Howard
Jones. All tickets for this show are $19.99.
The “OC Fair Reggaefest” features
Grammy-award winner Burning Spear,
the legendary group Third World, and
dancehall superstar Yellowman on
Sunday, July 24, at 6 p.m.
Third Day, MercyMe and Chris
Tomlin perform Tuesday, July 26, at 7 p.m.
Flogging Molly, The Vandals and
Goldfinger will perform Thursday,
July 28, at 7 p.m. Melding punk rock
and traditional Irish music, Flogging
Molly released their critically acclaimed
third album, “Within AMile From Home,”
in 2004. After 25 years Orange County’s
Vandals are punk rock royalty with such
classics as “Urban Struggle” and “Lady
Killer.” Goldfinger released their latest
ska-punk masterpiece, “Disconnection
Notice,” in 2005.
Grammy award-winning country
phenomenon LeAnn Rimes performs
on Friday, July 29, at 7:30 p.m. The then
13-year-old Rimes burst into the
national consciousness with her 1996
debut single “Blue.” Now, a decade
later, Rimes is touring in support of
“This Woman,” her most accomplished
release to date. All tickets for this show
are $19.99.
Chris Isaak, performing Saturday,
July 30, at 8 p.m., hit the big time with
his third release, “Heart Shaped World,”
after the single “Wicked Game” appeared
in David Lynch’s 1990 film “Wild At
Heart.” Since his breakthrough single,
Isaak has produced a collection of critically
acclaimed albums including 2002’s
“Always Got Tonight” and 2004’s
“Chris Isaak Christmas.” All tickets for
