Interacting with Animals

From livestock competitions to everyone’s favorite races, what’s a county fair without a few goats and cows? Here are the main animal areas at the OC Fair. Most areas close by 10 p.m. so the animals can get their beauty rest. 

Centennial Farm

Visit our three-acre year-round working farm, where a variety of livestock and crops will be on display to help educate the public on agriculture and the role it plays in our daily lives. Centennial Farm is located between Blue Gate and Heroes Hall.

MILKING DEMONSTRATIONS
Head to Millennium Barn during the OC Fair to see a cow milking demonstration at 2:15, 4:15 & 6:15 p.m.

OC BEEKEEPERS
Volunteers will be on hand daily to share information about bees and beekeeping. They will have a live beehive on display, along with an array of honey products for sale.

UCCE MASTER GARDENERS OF OC 
Volunteers will be on hand to answer general gardening questions and share resources.

CALIFORNIA RARE FRUIT GROWERS CLUB 
Members will be on hand to share general information and resources about rare & tropical fruit trees.


Livestock Area

Various 4-H and FFA livestock competitions and animal exhibits will be on display in the Livestock Area, which is near Yellow Gate.

JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION – SATURDAY, JULY 25

Participate in a live auction that supports the growth and education of young farmers. We are proud that the annual OC Fair Junior Livestock Auction supports 4-H and FFA agriculture education programs throughout Orange County.

    Youth showcase their poultry knowledge on competitive teams.
  • Market Awards Ceremony
    Youth market livestock exhibitors are presented with awards for competing in competitions throughout the week.
     

Great American Petting Farm

Pet and feed goats, sheep, pigs and more in this fun petting zoo, which is located near Yellow Gate.


All-Alaskan Racing Pigs

Cheer on your favorite swine as these happy pigs race daily in Plaza Pacifica. Seating is first come, first served. Read more about the racing pigs!
