Volunteer at Centennial Farm

We can turn you into a farmer – our training will get you ready to have fun and show little cowpokes around the farm during our Jr. Farmers Tours and Discovery Days. Sorry, overalls not included.

Who & when: If you are at least 18 and are consistently available for a half day one day a week Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., you’re a great candidate.

What: Provide farm tours to students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. To volunteer, you should be comfortable around children and animals and be able to bend, kneel and walk for at least 90 minutes.

How: Contact us at 714-708-1619 or email us at centennialfarm@ocfair.com

Why: Centennial Farm is a year-round facility that provides young children with the opportunity to learn more about agriculture in their lives. From October to May we host free field trips in which elementary school children get to tour our farm. Since our field trips are free, we strongly rely on volunteers to help keep our programs running. The volunteers guide the children on their tours through the farm and show them a whole new world.

Upcoming Volunteer Information Sessions

We will be holding an open house session for individuals who might be interested in becoming a volunteer docent at Centennial Farm. The date is Tuesday, March 19 (RSVP by March 15) from 8:30 to 11 a.m.

During the open house, you will have the chance to meet current volunteers, learn about our programs and tour the farm with a docent during a Jr. Farmer Tour. We encourage you to ask questions and engage with our staff and docents – we are a friendly and welcoming group here on the farm!

Learn more about Jr. Farmer Tours here, or send an email to cfemail@ocfair.com to register for one of the information sessions.
