Pacific Amphitheatre at the OC Fair Earns No. 15 Annual Ranking from Industry Magazine
Costa Mesa, Calif. (December 16, 2010) – The Pacific Amphitheatre at the OC Fair earned the No. 15 spot in the nation for its capacity in an annual analysis by industry magazine Venues Today. The annual OC Fair was July 16-August 15, 2010.
Announced in the year-end issue of Venues Today, the ranking compared ticket grosses of the Pacific Amphitheatre against similarly sized venues (5,001-10,000 seats) for October 2009 to October 2010. The Pacific Amphitheatre also ranked No. 7 in attendance during that same period. Out of the top 20 venues ranked by Venues Today, Pacific Amphitheatre was one of two outdoor venues and the only seasonal venue.
Pacific Amphitheatre features 8,500 fixed seats and in 2010 offered limited lawn seating for select shows, a first for the venue since its reopening in 2003. The 2010 season had nine of 24 concerts sell out and overall sold 75 percent of seats available for purchase which is more than 155,000 tickets.
“While I am very happy Pacific Amphitheatre is included on the list of prestigious venues, more satisfying is being named a top venue in the world is a tribute to a very deep connection between venue, artist and audience who all worked ‘in concert’ in 2010. We will look to deepen this relationship even further in 2011,” President & CEO Steve Beazley said.
The OC Fair & Event Center is located off the 405 and 55 freeways at 88 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa and features events throughout the year. For more information, please visit ocfair.com or follow us on Twitter – twitter.com/ocfair.
