The English Beat, Purple Madness and The Man in Black headed to The Hangar during the 2019 OC Fair
Costa Mesa, Calif. (Feb. 25, 2019) – The OC Fair has announced three more shows coming to The Hangar this summer. The English Beat will perform at The Hangar on July 19, Purple Madness – America’s Prince Experience on July 18, and The Man in Black – A Tribute to Johnny Cash on July 20. Tickets for these shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 2.

Original member Dave Wakeling will bring The English Beat back to the stage on July 19. Formed in 1979, The English Beat blended soul, reggae, pop and punk, creating infectious dance rhythms over three classic albums – I Just Can’t Stop It, Wh’appen and Special Beat Service – before the original line up disbanded. Wakeling is joined by a band of six talented musicians, playing all the hits of The Beat, General Public and his new songs, including “Tears of a Clown,” “Mirror in the Bathroom” and “Tenderness.”
Purple Madness – America’s Prince Experience

Purple Madness is the ultimate celebration of Prince, one of the most widely beloved entertainers and influential artists of all time. Bobby Miller presents an electrifying performance that can be best described as high energy and a must see. Purple Madness has all but perfected every last nuance in recreating the sights and sounds of a live Prince performance, and will hit The Hangar stage on July 18.
The Man in Black – A Tribute to Johnny Cash
Saturday, July 20, 8:30 p.m. at The Hangar

With his striking resemblance, spot-on mannerisms and baritone voice, Shawn Barker will bring the character and spirit of Johnny Cash to The Hangar on July 20. Shawn Barker’s tribute to Johnny Cash is an accurate and energetic recreation of an American music icon. The show brings the legend back to life on stage for the fans of today and the next generation.
