Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs: Centennial Farm & Heroes Hall Reopening
Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 3

Q: What are the hours?
A: Centennial Farm and Heroes Hall will both be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (last reservation accepted at 2 p.m.; group will be allowed to stay until 3 p.m.).

Q: What are you doing to ensure guest safety?
A: Along with keeping updated on current state, county and city guidelines, we require reservations (to limit capacity and ensure social distancing), wellness check with temperature check of all guests prior to entry, daily cleaning of high-touch surfaces, signage to remind guests of our policies, enforcement of face mask rules, multiple hand-wash/sanitizing stations throughout the property, and staff on site to monitor guests and their safety.

Q: Can I just show up and enter?
A: No, guests must make a reservation at ocfair.com/reservations.

Q: Will walk-ins be allowed to enter if someone else doesn’t show up for their reservation?
A: No, guests MUST have a reservation in order to enter.

Q: Is there a charge?
A: No, there is no charge for parking or admission to Centennial Farm or Heroes Hall. However, there is an optional donation of $5 per person. Donations go directly to OC Fair & Event Center’s Centennial Farm & Heroes Hall Education Programs (not through Foundations); therefore, donations are not tax deductible.

Q: Where can I park?
A: Parking is available through Gate 1 off of Fair Drive in Costa Mesa; park in Lot B (adjacent to Centennial Farm and Heroes Hall). Parking is free. (See parking map.)

Q: Why do I have to make a reservation?
A: Currently, the OC Health department restricts capacity to 25 percent. Reservations allow us to keep track of the number of people on site at any time. This also allows us to ensure that proper social distancing can be practiced.

Q: How many people will be allowed to visit?
A: Our reservation system will be set up to allow booking of up to 20 total guests per time slot beginning at 11 a.m., with the last reservation at 2 p.m. Guests will be limited to one-hour visits based on reservation times (no multiple or back-to-back reservations will be allowed). Please note: the one-hour time limit begins at the guest’s reservation time; visits cannot be extended due to late arrival.

Q: Where is the entrance to the Farm?
A: Guests will enter Centennial Farm via Heroes Hall. When you make a reservation, you are reserving a visit to both Centennial Farm and Heroes Hall. Here is a map that shows where you will enter and exit during your visit:

Q: Why can’t I make a reservation for a later month (i.e. Dec/Jan)?
A: Currently, we are allowing guests to book up to two weeks in advance only. Since we do not know what the status of the city/county will be in relation to COVID-19, we want to be cognizant of any changes that may occur.

Q: Do I have to wear a face mask?
A: Yes. In order to gain access to Centennial Farm or Heroes Hall, all guests must wear a face mask/shield throughout their visit. Children 2 years old and younger do not have to wear a face mask.

Q: Why is my visit limited to one hour?
A: Currently, the OC Health department restricts capacity to 25 percent. Limiting groups to one-hour visits will allow us to ensure that proper social distancing can be practiced based on the amount of people on site at any given time.

Q: Are guided tours offered to those who make a reservation?
A: Guided tours are not being offered at this time. Guests will be allowed to visit Heroes Hall and Centennial Farm areas on a self-guided tour. Staff will also be on hand to answer any questions guests may have.

Q: Why aren’t you open on the weekends?
A: Due to limited staffing and events taking place at OC Fair & Event Center on the weekends, and to ensure guest safety, we are unable to open on weekends at this time.

Q: Can I bring food?
A: No. Food or drinks will not be allowed nor can be purchased on site. Bottled water or water in enclosed containers will be allowed. No drinking fountains are available on site.

Q: What if I only want to visit Centennial Farm (or Heroes Hall)? Do I have to make a reservation for both?
A: Regardless of what area you would like to visit, we have one centralized reservation system. You are welcome to visit either Centennial Farm, Heroes Hall or both during your visit.

Q: Can I bring pets?
A: No. Pets are not allowed on site. Service animals are allowed but in order to ensure the safety of all animals, service animals cannot be taken in or around animal areas at Centennial Farm.
