    Nino Village
    Dia del Nino Village workshops will include:
    • Circus Workshop: Fern Street Circus is back by popular demand with their unique workshop that leads children of all ages through tumbling, juggling, tightwire and clowning in a portable circus ring.
    • Stencils and Textiles of the Americas: Timoi will lead activities in painting modern textiles of the Americas, and stencil painting ruins of the Americas. 
    • International Beading: Janet Adams from Southern California Artists will conduct workshops on Huichol Indian beading and paper making.
    • Peace Dove: Maria Reyna from Arte por Vida will show children how to use a mix of media, pencil, oil pastels, watercolors to create an original work of art while they will learn about the Nahua culture from Mexico.
    • Bubblefun: Israel Barrios will explore the science and history of bubbles with an imaginative workshop that offers the chance to be inside a bubble, blow big bubbles and seeing the effects of dry ice in soapy water.
    • Clay Building: Manuel Cortez from Creative Dynamics will lead a workshop making clay turtles that will teach listening, following instructions, building fine motor skills and finding inner peace.
    • Little Book of Dreamers: Yenny Bernal from Uplifting Soul Art Events will guide children through scrapbooking techniques and making a beautiful recycled journal.
    • Migration in the Americas: Kimberly Duran from The Heavy Collective will celebrate diversity in cultures and ethnicity by creating an artistic butterflies.
    • Cumbia Kids: Moises Vazquez’s workshop invites children of all skill levels to learn Cumbia and other Latin grooves using various instruments in a drum circle setting. 
    • Children’s Mural Workshop: Francisco Ordoñez from Media Arts Santa Ana returns with his popular mural painting activity, allowing kids to participate in a large scale art piece, exploring color and imagery.
    • Ojos de Dios/God’s Eye Workshop and Friendship Bracelets: Marisol Cardenas will conduct a workshop evoking the weaving motif and its spiritual associations for the Huichol and Tepehuan Indians of western Mexico. 
    • La Loteria History and Symbol: Adriana Martinez will share the history of the colorful Mexican loteria game, showing kids how to use watercolor, painting, drawing, and composition skills to create their own loteria-inspired cards.
    • Dance Party: Hiba Shublak and instructors from Active Learning will provide dance, hip hop and pop exercises, warm ups, stretches and creative movement activities. 
    • Stop Motion Animation: Jesus Mora from the Orange County Children’s Therapeutic Arts Center will conduct a workshop that will explore storytelling through drawing, writing, character design and stop-motion animation.
    • Recreational Flamenco: Claudia de la Cruz will introduce the art of flamenco dance to participants in a fun way, exploring basics such as zapateado (footwork), braceo (arm form), floreo (hand movements) and palmas (hand clapping).
    • Coloring with the Community: Dino Perez will have some of his imaginative designs on hand to teach color theory, color harmonies and patterns. 
    • Button Making and Magnets: Maria Elena Cruz from Dial Art will engage children in mixed media art to make wearable buttons and magnets with empowering words, quotes and images.
    • Art of Puppetry: Jeremy Hohn from Rogue Artists Ensemble will lead a workshop in which children will create and take home their very own Cardboard Box Rod puppet.
