April events at OC Fair & Event Center


Costa Mesa, Calif. (March 29, 2018) – OC Fair & Event Center is host to more than 150 year-round events throughout the fairgrounds. Here’s what’s coming up this weekend and throughout the month of April.

♦ March 31: OC Market Place Grand Reopening

The OC Market Place is hosting a free community gathering and relaunch event. The Grand Reopening includes a full day of activities including live entertainment, art installations and a car show. Plus, head over to Centennial Farm at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for Easter egg hunts.

Hours: Saturday, March 31, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. (ribbon cutting at 10 a.m.)

♦ March 31: Zedtown – Zombie invasion experience

Zombie defense mobilization efforts are now underway as Orange County residents prepare for an impending zombie invasion experience – armed with only foam blasters.

Hours: Saturday, March 31, 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. (two events; each lasts four hours)
Cost: $40 general admission. Parking is $8.

♦ April 5: Fight Club OC at The Hangar

Enjoy pro boxing and MMA in person and displayed across a 40-foot big screen with instant replay and an outdoor cigar lounge.

Hours: Thursday, April 5, 7-10:30 p.m. (Happy Hour specials from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.)
Cost: $60 admission. Parking is $8.

♦ April 7: Food Preservation Workshop at Centennial Farm

This workshop, led by OC Fair’s Culinary Supervisor Pam Wnuck, is a hands-on lesson in steam canning, during which participants will make morning cheer marmalade. Leave the class with three canning jars of marmalade to enjoy at home, give as a gift or enter in the 2018 OC Fair competitions.

Hours: Saturday, April 7, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Cost: $55 includes materials and handouts. Please bring three 1-pint canning jars with lids and rings.

♦ April 8: Sand Sports Super Swap

The Sand Sports Super Show is hosting a one-day opportunity for off-road enthusiasts to “swap” their sand toys and equipment. Sellers of new and used quads, dune buggies, motorcycles, tires, engine parts, helmets and anything for the off-road enthusiast are welcome!

Hours: Sunday, April 8, 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
Cost: $10 general admission; save $5 by purchasing tickets online in advance

♦ April 13-15: Imaginology

Kids and parents are invited to learn about S.T.E.A.M. (Science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) related careers, exhibits and activities. At Imaginology, ingenuity and science combine to create a world where the future is only an innovation away!

Hours: Friday, April 13, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Saturday, April 14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, April 15, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Cost: Free admission for all ages. Parking $8 on Saturday and Sunday

♦ April 21: Goat Yoga at Centennial Farm

In collaboration with Spectra Yoga of Costa Mesa and the Fountain Valley Cloverdales 4-H Club, Centennial Farm will present two goat yoga sessions. Plus, for non-yoga participants, enjoy photos with goats, tour the Farm and watch the fun for free.

Hours: Saturday, April 21, 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Cost: Yoga sessions are $40; event is free to attend – SOLD OUT! Come and enjoy the free Goat Experience

♦ April 21: The Inflatable Run & Festival

The Inflatable Run is an all-ages family event featuring a 5k inflatable obstacle course plus fun games, shows and attractions in the festival area. There are free activities for kids and interactive attractions available the entire day.

Hours: Saturday, April 21, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Cost: $15-$65 for adults (prices vary based on packages/activities); for children age 12 and younger, festival and 5k is free, and activities packages are $20-$45. Parking is $8.

♦ April 27-29: America’s Family Pet Expo

The 29th annual America’s Family Pet Expo is the largest pet and pet product expo. Exhibits include retailers, groomers, hobbyist, rescue organizations, breeders and pet experts.

Hours: Friday, April 27, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday, April 28, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, April 29, 10 a.m.-6 p.m
Cost: $15 general admission, $13 seniors (60+), $10 children (ages 6-12), free for kids 5 and younger. Active and retired military members are free with valid ID. Parking is $8.

Get ready for 23 days of fun at the 2018 OC Fair, where you can “Free Your Inner Farmer” and enjoy all the rides, food, games and entertainment you can handle. Performances are being announced at pacamp.com.

Cost: $12-$14 general admission / $7 senior (60+) and youth (ages 6-12) / free for children 5 and younger. Parking is $10.
