August events at OC Fair & Event Center


The 2017 OC Fair features 23 days and nights of entertainment, food, rides, shopping, exhibits, animals and headline performances in the Pacific Amphitheatre, nightly music in The Hangar and adrenaline-inducing events in the Action Sports Arena.

When: Wednesdays through Sundays, through Aug. 13
Hours: Wednesday-Friday, noon-midnight; Saturday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-midnight
Admission: General (13-59) $12 weekday, $14 weekend; senior (60+) $7; child (6-12) $7; children 5 and younger are free; active military and veterans are free with valid ID. Parking is $10.

Run, walk or skip through the OC Fair! The OC Marathon presents the 9th annual OC Fair 5K Fun Run, featuring a course that starts and ends at the Main Gate.

The course includes Detours of Fun, like a ride down the Giant Slide. A free ticket to the 2017 OC Fair is included with registration, as well as a goodie bag and race T-shirt.

When: Sunday, Aug. 6, 8 a.m. (registration and packet pickup at 6 a.m.; awards ceremony at 9:15 a.m.)
How much: $30 registration for adults 16 and older; $20 for children ages 6-15; $5 for children 5 and under.

♦ August 19-20, Crossroads of the West Gun Show

Two-day gun and western Americana show with guns, accessories, tactical gear, ammunition, safes, personal protection products and more.

Hours: Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Admission: General admission $18 (at the gates) / $16 (advance online); senior $17 (at the gates) / $16 (advance online); children 12 and younger are free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parking is $8.

♦ August 19, Costa Mesa Speedway – Harley Night #2 / Sidecars

♦ August 19, Pacific Symphony’s Jurassic Park

A soundtrack 65 million years in the making! Experience the classic film while Pacific Symphony performs John Williams’ thrilling score live. Masterfully directed by Steven Spielberg and based on the novel by Michael Crichton, “Jurassic Park” transports you to a secluded island where scientists have succeeded in reviving the age of dinosaurs.

♦ August 20, Ha*Ash / Yuridia

Ha*Ash, a Mexican pop duo featuring Hanna Nicole Perez Mosa and her sister Ashley Grace from Lake Charles, Louisiana, have released a string of hits including “Estés En Donde Estés,” “Odio Amarte,” and “Amor a Medias.”

Mexican singer Yuridia became one of the highest selling artists in Mexico by age 19 and has earned 23 Gold certified albums in Mexico and three in the U.S., including “Como Yo Nadie Te Ha Amado,” “Ahora Entendí” and “Ya Te Olvidé.”
