January 2020 events at OC Fair & Event Center


COSTA MESA (Dec. 27, 2019) – Events happening in January include Winter Fest OC, Bride World Expo, Tet Festival and more.

♦ Through Jan. 5, Winter Fest OC

Enjoy 18 days of fun as the fairgrounds are transformed into a massive winter wonderland of attractions and live entertainment. Winter Fest OC features a redesigned outdoor ice skating rink, ice tubing down the 150-foot long Snowflake Summit, Snow Play with fresh snow daily, Yowie’s Sweet Shoppe, SoCal Dickens Village and more!

When: Open every day through Jan. 5, 2020; hours vary.
How much: Pricing varies depending on package and day. Parking is $9.

♦ Jan. 4, Bride World Expo

SoCal’s bridal super show features more than 150 wedding venues, florists, photographers, DJs, photo booths, invitations, decor ideas, honeymoon packages, fashion shows, giant gown sale and DIY seminars. Meet local experts and find the best wedding planning values.

When: Saturday, Jan. 4, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

♦ Jan. 18-19, Crossroads of the West Gun Show

Two-day gun and western Americana show with guns, accessories, tactical gear, ammunition, safes, personal protection products and more.

When: Saturday, Jan. 18, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
How much: $18 general admission; children 12 and younger are free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parking is $9.

♦ Jan. 18-19, SoCal World Guitar Show

If you have guitars, amplifiers, effects, parts or other musical items to sell or trade, you may bring all you can carry into the show at no extra charge. Many of the nation’s top foreign and domestic buyers will be at this show to pay top prices for your vintage, newer, used or rare gear.

♦ Jan. 24-26, UVSA Tet Festival

The UVSA Tet Festival of Southern California is the largest Vietnamese New Year Festival in the nation. It is run entirely by volunteers consisting of high school and college students, young professionals and parents. The fest strives to help preserve and share the Vietnamese culture.

When: Friday, Jan. 24, 4-10 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25, 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
How much: $6 general admission (tickets are available online). Parking is $9.

♦ Jan. 25, Food Preservation Class

This class will bring you up to date on the latest food preservation recommendations, teach you how to process your food safely and tell you why you are doing it that way. You will learn what equipment is needed and proper storage methods. In addition, you will discover ways to save money and prolong the life of your fruits and vegetables, all while reducing food waste and eating healthier without additives.

When: Saturday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m.-noon at Centennial Farm. Must register by Jan. 24.
How much: $25 fee covers ingredients and handouts.
