Los Lobos, King of Pop and Sweet & Tender Hooligans headed to The Hangar during 2019 OC Fair; O.A.R. with American Authors to perform at Pacific Amphitheatre


Costa Mesa, Calif. (Feb. 12, 2019) – The OC Fair has announced four more shows coming to The Hangar and Pacific Amphitheatre this summer. The original Los Lobos will perform at The Hangar on July 14, King of Pop – A Michael Jackson Experience on July 17, and Sweet & Tender Hooligans – A Tribute to the Smiths & Morrissey on July 26. In a special post-Fair show, O.A.R. with American Authors will perform at the Pacific Amphitheatre on Aug. 18. Tickets for these shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.

Los Lobos

More than four decades have passed since Los Lobos released their debut album, Just Another Band from East L.A. Members of Los Lobos were already East L.A. neighborhood legends, Sunset Strip regulars and made up a Grammy Award-winning band by the time they recorded their major label debut How Will The Wolf Survive? in 1984. Four decades, two more Grammys, a smash single (“La Bamba”) and thousands of performances later, Los Lobos is surviving quite well – and still jamming with the same raw intensity as they had when they began in that garage in 1973. Catch them at The Hangar on July 14.

It is with great honor and utmost respect that King of Pop was formed and will hit The Hangar stage on July 17. For anyone who wasn’t fortunate enough to have witnessed Michael Jackson’s live shows, this tribute band considers the experience one of the best live performances on the planet. It was with this in mind that King of Pop chose to recreate some of Michael’s most memorable concert moments. The production team consists of Bobby Miller as the ultimate Michael Jackson impersonator, backed by a group of talented musicians and dancers.

Sweet & Tender Hooligans – A Tribute to the Smiths & Morrissey

As the “ultimate tribute to Morrissey and the Smiths,” L.A.-based Sweet & Tender Hooligans have been paying homage to the legendary British indie band for more than two decades. led by singer Jose Maldonado, the six-member band has been named one of the best tribute bands in Los Angeles by LA Weekly. Headed to The Hangar on July 26, their finely crafted tribute show will feature such hits as “How Soon Is Now?” “What Difference Does It Make” and “Every Day is Like Sunday.”

O.A.R. / American Authors

Keep the summer going with a post-Fair show, featuring O.A.R. with American Authors on Aug. 18. During the course of its two decades of making records, O.A.R. has filled arenas and amphitheaters as it crafts and releases relatable songs with big pop hooks. The band’s ninth studio album, The Mighty, will be released this spring. Brooklyn-based American Authors are best known for their hit singles “Believer” and “Best Day of My Life” from their debut album Oh, What a Life, as well as their Top 20 hit, “Go Big or Go Home,” from their second album, What We Live For. Their latest release is 2019’s Seasons

Tickets to these shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster and include admission to the 2019 OC Fair. More performances and action sports at the Fair will be announced in the coming months. Sign up for pre-sale emails at ocfair.com/newsletters.
