March 2020 events at OC Fair & Event Center


COSTA MESA (Feb. 26, 2020) – Events happening in March include VOLTA by Cirque du Soleil, the new Four Wheeler Adventure Expo and California Bridal & Wedding Expo.

March 6 & 16, Discovery Day

Discovery Days at Centennial Farm are open to the public and are perfect for mom groups, homeschool groups and more. Groups may participate in the following activities:

  • Radish Seed Planting: Children will plant a radish seed to take back to school.
  • Chick Education: Learn about the development of chicks (no petting chicks).
  • Oxen Demonstration: Demonstration days vary depending on the volunteers’ schedules.
  • Crop Education: Seasonal varieties.
  • Livestock Animal Education: Swine, goats, sheep, cattle, rabbits and poultry.
  • Cow Milking Demonstration: Provided there is lactating cow; call 1-2 days before your tour to verify).

When: Friday, March 6, and Monday, March 16, 9 a.m.-noon at Centennial Farm
How much: Free admission and parking. Reservations required for groups of 6 or more.

March 7-8, Four Wheeler Adventure Expo

This new expo is a unique event for off-road, outdoor lifestyle and adventure travel enthusiasts. Whether your journey takes you into the back country or high altitudes to mountain bike, hike and rock climb, the Adventure Expo hosts classes and seminars to prepare you for your next adventure. The event will feature live music, demos, camping and outdoor lifestyle gear vendors, adventure rig display, rock wall climbing demos and more.

When: Saturday, March 7, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
How much: $15 advance general admission ($20 at the door); weekend passes are available for $30. Children ages 12 and younger are free. Vehicle registration is $65 in advance, $80 at the door. Parking is $10.

March 14, Food Preservation Class: Lemon Curd & English Scones

In this class you will learn how to preserve foods with freezing. So roll up your sleeves and get ready to zest, mix and whisk your way through a delicious lemon curd recipe. In addition, you will make English scones and discover the mystery of ube. This class is open to all skill levels.

When: Saturday, March 14, 10 a.m.-noon at Centennial Farm
How much: $25 fee covers ingredients and handouts

March 19-April 19, VOLTA by Cirque du Soleil

VOLTA tells a spellbinding story about the freedom to choose and the thrill of blazing your own trail. Inspired in part by the adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of action sports, the show weaves the adrenaline rush of acrobatics into a visually striking world driven by a stirring melodic score. VOLTA is Cirque du Soleil’s 41st original production since 1984.

When: Shows will be presented March 19-April 19, most Tuesdays through Sundays; hours vary depending on date.
How much: Tickets start at $50. Parking is $10.

March 21-22, Crossroads of the West Gun Show

Two-day gun and Western Americana show with guns, accessories, tactical gear, ammunition, safes, personal protection products and more.

When: Saturday, March 21, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, March 22, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
How much: $18 general admission; children 12 and younger are free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parking is $10.

March 24-26, OC Science & Engineering Fair + STEAM Showcase

The 2020 Orange County Science & Engineering Fair + STEAM showcase will feature amazing scientific exhibits and projects presented by Orange County elementary, middle and high school students.

When: Tuesday, March 24 (project set-ups), 1 p.m.-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 25 (judging and student interviews), 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Thursday, March 26 (open house and awards ceremony), 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at The Hangar

March 26, AAOC Trade Show & Conference

The 49th annual Apartment Association of Orange County (AAOC) Trade Show & Conference is for rental property owners, resident managers, realtors and property management companies to network with more than 100 booths offering various products and services specific to their industry.

March 28-29, The Mom Made Market

March 28-29, Flying Miz Daisy Vintage Market

Vendors from all over the West Coast will bring highly curated vintage goods, from Americana and farmhouse to industrial and mid-century – and everything in between. There will also be an amazing selection of vintage apparel, artisan-made items, boutique clothing and jewelry.

The expo is a unique, interactive event with food to taste, dresses to see, flowers to enjoy, music to dance to and fun to be had. The event also includes fashion shows, live DJ and band demos, cash prizes and giveaways.
