November 2019 events at OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa


COSTA MESA (Oct. 25, 2019) – Events happening in November include the Sugar Plum Arts & Crafts Festival, Repticon, Salute to Veterans and more.

Nov. 1-3, Jurassic Quest

A dinosaur adventure for the whole family! The main dinosaur exhibit features ultra-realistic, life-size animatronic dinosaurs, with more than 80 life-size dinosaurs in all. Visitors can interact with these huge creatures, learn about them and even ride a few.
When: Friday, Nov. 1, 3 p.m.-8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 3, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
How much: $25 general admission; $23 for seniors (65+) and police/military. Parking is $9.

Nov. 2, Holiday Craft-Making Workshop

Explore treasures from the garden and make three separate projects: custom-scented bath fizzies, body care scrub and a bonus wood heart pin for you or as gifts! Pick your own scents and natural ingredients and learn how to make them yourself at home. All materials provided, as well as light snacks and drinks.
When: Saturday, Nov. 2, 10 a.m.-noon at Centennial Farm. Must register by Nov. 1.
How much: $50 fee covers materials and/or handouts.

Nov. 7-9, Sugar Plum Arts & Crafts Festival

Celebrating 41 years, Sugar Plum welcomes in the holiday season with gifts to warm the heart and accessories that make a home. Sugar Plum offers more than 150 local artists featuring holiday, home and garden decorations, handmade jewelry, candles, candy, cookies, breads, jams and more.
When: Thursday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 9, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
How much: Free admission. Parking is $9 on Thursday and Friday, but free on Saturday.

Nov. 8-9, Flying Miz Daisy Vintage Market

Southern California’s best vintage market with authentic, upcycled, repurposed and one-of-a-kind merchandise not found in any department stores. Individual vendors feature Americana and European goods, home decor, furniture, jewelry/clothing and artisan wares styled and curated in each booth.
When: Friday, Nov. 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
How much: $7 general admission; free for military (with ID) and children 12 and younger. Parking is $9 on Friday, free on Saturday.

Nov. 9-10, Repticon

The event features vendors offering reptile pets, supplies, feeders, cages and merchandise, as well as live animal seminars and free raffles for coveted prizes. Exciting, educational and family-oriented fun for everyone.
When: Saturday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
How much: $10 general admission; $5 for children ages 5-12; free for children ages 4 and younger. Parking is free on Saturday, $9 on Sunday.

Nov. 9, Pruning Fruit Trees – The Basics

Learn the best time to prune stone fruit, citrus and avocado trees in Southern California. Isabel Barkman will cover the basics of pruning and why the pruning season here is different than the rest of the country. Attendees will also prep for the hands-on fruit pruning workshop in January.
When: Saturday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m.-noon at Centennial Farm. Must register by Nov. 8.

Nov. 9, Salute to Veterans Community Celebration

Join us for a free Veterans Day community celebration featuring music, food and activities for kids. There will also be a dedication ceremony for the relocated A-4M Skyhawk memorial.

Nov. 23, Kombucha 101

Join Dr. Yasmine Mason of Fermentation Farm as she teaches you how to make kombucha. A discussion about fermentation – including history, health benefits and a Q&A about gut health – will follow. You will be provided with all the materials needed to make a gallon of kombucha.
When: Saturday, Nov. 23, 10 a.m.-noon at Centennial Farm. Must register by Nov. 21.

Nov. 23, Beekeeping – The Basics

Participants will learn about the history and folklore of honey bees, their importance in pollination and hive social structure. There will also be a discussion on problems bees are facing today. Some positive advice to help honey bees will be covered and the class will end with a honey tasting.
When: Saturday, Nov. 23, 1:30 p.m. Must register by Nov. 21.

Nov. 30-Dec.1, Crossroads of the West Gun Show

Two-day gun and western Americana show with guns, accessories, tactical gear, ammunition, safes, personal protection products and more.
When: Saturday, Nov. 30, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 1, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
How much: $18 general admission; children 12 and younger are free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parking is $9.

Nov. 30, Make It, Take It – Floral Design: Ikebana

Learn the basics of Ikebana floral arrangement and design. Our instructors will teach important Ikebana arrangement principles, and attendees will create their own arrangement to take home. Consider using your newly learned skills to enter the Ikebana Floral Design Competition during the 2020 OC Fair!
When: Saturday, Nov. 30, 10 a.m.-noon at Centennial Farm. Must register by Nov. 29.
