OC Fair & Event Center brings home 16 industry awards

COSTA MESA (Jan. 27, 2020) – OC Fair & Event Center was honored with 16 awards for innovation and excellence by the Western Fairs Association.

OCFEC received six first-place honors, four second-place awards and six third-place awards.

The 2019 OC Fair theme, Acres of Fun, received top honors, as did the Fair logo. The Heroes Hall exhibit, Victory from Within, was another first-place winner as was a new Clean Barn Award program. Two innovations, hand-washing station pumps and wind-powered charging stations, also received top honors.

Second-place awards went to OCFEC for the “Love is in the Fair” wedding contest, the OC Fair printed schedule, agriculture-themed lounges at the fair and Boo Ha Ha – A Haunted Oktobeerfest, a new fall event.

OCFEC received third-place honors for photography (right), fair advertising poster, foreign-language printed marketing campaign, digital marketing campaign, promotional items and for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Workplace Mentoring Program, a new initiative in 2019.

Many prize categories were specific to the 2019 OC Fair and others were related to year-round events and programs. The Western Fairs Association presented the awards for 2019 achievements at its annual conference last week in Reno, NV.
