Rick Springfield and Ramon Ayala to headline pre-Fair shows at Pacific Amphitheatre
Costa Mesa, Calif. (Feb. 4, 2019) – The OC Fair has announced two pre-Fair shows at Pacific Amphitheatre this summer: Ramon Ayala and Banda Machos will perform on July 7, and Rick Springfield with the Pacific Symphony will perform on July 11. Tickets for these shows go on sale Saturday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m.

Ramon Ayala, known as the “King of the Accordion,” has been a master accordionist/vocalist/songwriter for more than 40 years, defining norteño music with signature songs and definitive instrumental stylings that have made him a superstar on both sides of the El Rio Grande. Ayala has received four Grammy Awards including two Latin Grammys for the albums Quemame Los Ojos and El Numero Cien. He has recorded classic songs like “Ya No Llores,” “Un Rinconcito en el Cielo” and “Chaparra de Mi Amor.” The pre-Fair concert will kick off with Banda Machos, performing a combination of Banda music, Quebradita and Ranchera.

Grammy Award winner Rick Springfield cemented his place in pop culture with the #1 hit “Jessie’s Girl.” He followed with four more top 10 U.S. hits, “I’ve Done Everything for You,” “Don’t Talk to Strangers,” “Affair of the Heart” and “Love Somebody.” His newest album, The Snake King, released in 2018, explores the blues. In this pre-Fair concert at Pacific Amphitheatre, Springfield will perform his timeless favorites with the Pacific Symphony.
Tickets to these shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster and include admission to the 2019 OC Fair. More performances and action sports at the Fair will be announced in the coming months. Sign up for pre-sale emails at ocfair.com/newsletters.
