February 2021 events at OC Fair & Event Center


COSTA MESA (Feb. 1, 2021) – OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa will host a dinosaur drive-thru in February, and fairgrounds staff is already making plans for a virtual Imaginology in April.
♦ COVID Testing – Weekdays
 
The Orange County Health Care Agency is conducting drive-through COVID-19 testing by appointment only. Enter through Gate 4 off of Arlington Drive.
 
When: Mondays-Fridays, 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

♦ Farmers Market – Thursdays
 
Shop local at this OC Farm Bureau-certified farmers market featuring produce, fresh flowers, fish, hummus, honey, hot sauce and more. Some vendors also sell hot food for lunch such as tamales and tacos/burritos. 
 
When: Thursdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

♦ Jurassic Quest Drive-Thru – Feb. 5-14
 
Jurassic Quest’s exhibit has been transformed into an interactive drive-thru experience, featuring more than 70 moving and roaring dinosaurs and their 50-foot-long Megalodon! Go on a quest with their online audio tour that will take you throughout the exhibit where you will encounter some of the largest dinosaurs to ever roam the earth, and some of the eeriest marine creatures to ever lurk the ocean’s depths.
 
When: Feb. 5-14, 2020 (closed Monday/Tuesday). Hours vary.

♦ OC Fair Board of Directors meeting – Feb. 25
 
OC Fair’s Board of Directors meets monthly, and all public meetings are currently being conducted via Zoom. The meeting agenda will be available on our website prior to the meeting. The public is invited to watch or participate in this meeting via Zoom. The meeting will also be recorded and posted on our website afterward.

♦ Flying Miz Daisy Outdoor Vintage Market – March 13
 
Your favorite vintage market is back again and ready to set up outdoors for your shopping pleasure. The event will feature home decor vendors and more.
 
When: Saturday, March 13, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

♦ OC Fair’s Imaginology Goes Virtual – April 19-25
 
Imaginology is bringing S.T.E.A.M. (science, engineering, arts and math) to students of all ages with lots of activities and hands-on learning. Student competitions are now open for entries. Categories include collage, cosplay, digital art, drawing, painting, photography, poetry and 3D creations. The deadline to enter is March 19. Divisions range from pre-K to grades 9-12 and include an any-age special needs category.
 
Imaginology involves OC Fair & Event Center’s educational venues, Centennial Farm and Heroes Hall, and staff members are working hard to create virtual fun to help students learn about animals, plants and the physical world.
 
Activities for students will include a scavenger hunt, educational games, videos and more. There will be an e-sports component featuring Esports College & Career Pathways hosting tournaments, expert panels and giveaways. OC Fair & Event Center is also partnering with OC Marathon to create a unique fun run experience special to Imaginology. A full schedule of activities, events and exhibits will be announced in March.
 
 
When: April 19-25, virtually available all week long!
