Why was the 2020 OC Fair canceled?
The OC Fair Board of Directors considered ongoing guidance and updated information from State and County health care and government officials about the status of the coronavirus pandemic and the improbability that mass gatherings like the OC Fair could safely and responsibly take place this summer.
Why can’t you reschedule the 2020 OC Fair to a later date this year?
The OC Fair – which is open for about six weeks, not including set up and tear down time – works with several groups to put on the annual summer event, including the carnival provider RCS, hundreds of food and shopping vendors, exhibitors and more. Unfortunately, it would be impossible for all those businesses to coordinate a new date range of that length. Fair dates are typically set about a year in advance.
OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California, is also a year-round location for more than 150 events besides the annual OC Fair. Some of the weekend events that were also canceled earlier this year will be rescheduled for the fall.
Why can’t a smaller version of the Fair be organized?
The OC Fair greets more then a million guests every summer. A smaller footprint of the Fair won’t guarantee fewer people.
Why was the decision to cancel the 2020 OC Fair made so far in advance?
The OC Fair staff, vendors and partners plan for the annual event months in advance. Making the decision early on will help prevent everyone from incurring too many unnecessary costs in labor and materials.
What is a Virtual Fair?
OC Fair staff is working on hosting certain aspects of the Fair, such as competitions, online. More information will be posted on ocfair.com as it becomes available.
Will the concerts at Pacific Amphitheatre be canceled too?
Yes. Some will be postponed to the 2021 concert lineup.
How do I get a refund on my concert tickets?
